A Radio Media Tour consists of a series of pre-booked interviews with radio stations in selected cities across the country. Targets include appropriate radio formats for your message: News/Talk, All Sports, Urban, Contemporary. As with our television placements, the strategy is to place your product in a news or news/talk program and showcase it as a "newsworthy" item.
Normally a Radio Media Tour includes 10-20 interviews, both local and national, over the course of the morning and/or afternoon "drive" times. Because only a phone line is required, the spokesperson can easily conduct each interview from their home or office.
Each interview is approximately 5-10 minutes in overall length and must have a news "feel". Factors that influence producers in booking a radio interview are: a newsworthy topic, the popularity of the spokesperson (celebrities are always welcome satellite guests) and the ability to make the segment a station "exclusive." Every producer has his/her own opinion of what fits into their newscast/talk show. It is their choice to select which questions to ask the guest and how long the interview will run.
Our job is to create a "news" segment without giving it a "commercial/ advertising" feel. Using experienced professionals to create the Radio Media Tour package remains the key. |
